The daily Iraq violence report is compiled by McClatchy Newspapers in Baghdad from police, military and medical reports. This is not a comprehensive list of all violence in Iraq, much of which goes unreported. All times are Iraq local times.

BAGHDAD

_Sixty (60) Iraqis were killed and 130 wounded in a parked car explosion targeted the civilians near Khillani mosque in downtown Baghdad Tuesday. The explosion happened around 2:30 p.m. in an industrial area where tens of car fixing workshops are located.

_An Iraqi soldier was killed and three others injured when an improvised explosive device (IED) explosion targeted their patrol in Dora, southwest Baghdad, around 12 p.m. Tuesday.

_Three civilians were wounded in an IED explosion in Yarmouk, downtown Baghdad around 11 a.m.

_An Iraqi soldier was killed and another was injured when an IED explosion targeted their vehicle in Dora Tuesday afternoon.

_Three civilians were injured when a mortar shell landed in Shaab, northeast Baghdad, around 7 p.m. Tuesday.

_Two civilians were killed and 19 were injured when a mortar shell landed in Zafaraniya, southeast Baghdad, around 7 p.m. Tuesday.

_Gunmen killed Lt. Col. Alaa Abdullah Hamdan, an Iraqi borders police officer, in Al Shurta tunnel area west of Baghdad Tuesday afternoon.

_Police found 19 bodies throughout Baghdad on Tuesday.

Twelve (12) were found in Karkh, the western part of Baghdad: two in Dora; two in Ameriya; two in Kadhemiya; two in Amil; two in Bayaa; two in Shoala.

Seven were found in Rusafa, the eastern part of Baghdad: three in Adhamiya; two in New Baghdad (Baghdad al-Jadida); two in Sadr City.

BASRA PROVINCE

_Basra police spokesmen said that three civilians were killed and a police officer was injured when mortar shells hit the joint accord center Al Hakimiyah, downtown Basra City Monday evening

DIYALA PROVINCE

_Five Iraqi soldiers were killed and other 16 were injured when gunmen attacked their convoy near Hibhib Monday night. The soldiers are Kurd and were heading back north after finishing their rotation in Baghdad.
