In order to use commenting, your browser must be set to allow third-party cookies. Here's how to make sure it's set properly.
INTERNET EXPLORER 8.0
Choose Tools and then Internet Options.
Use the slider bar and set it to low.
Or, click Advanced and check the 'Override cookie handling' box and modify the settings to suit the requirements, such as allow 3rd party cookies.
INTERNET EXPLORER 7.0

Click the Privacy tab
Move the slider to choose a lower the security setting. The default setting is medium and the menu allows you to select the level of "filtering" on the basis of (a) the source of the cookie and (b) whether the source has a privacy policy.
For more specialized cookie settings click on Advanced.
INTERNET EXPLORER 6.0

Another thing to try is to clear all cookies from your browser.
FIREFOX
- Menu: Tools > Options Privacy tab Click “remove individual cookies”. For Disqus, remove the following cookies: You will see a list of sites to scroll through. Find disqus.com. Remove all cookies. Look for mcclatchydc's domain. First, locate mcclatchydc.disqus.com. Delete all cookies. You should now be logged out of Disqus and mcclatchydc.com. You can log back in as needed.

- As an alternative, if you only need to browse temporarily without existing cookies, you can start a private browsing session: Tools Menu > Start Private Browsing

Because it is substantially easier to delete individual cookies in Firefox, you may wish to do this in Firefox instead if you don’t want to delete all cookies for a given domain. This procedure will not delete all of your cookies, only those for a single site.
Menu: Tool > Internet Options Click “General” tab Under Browser History, click “Settings” button Click button “View Files”. You will see a window with all your cookies. Click “Internet Address” to arrange cookies by internet address. You may also want to arrange by type. Delete all cookies from the domain disqus.com. Delete all cookies from the domain of mcclatchydc.com.
Alternately, it is easier and surer just to delete all your cookies:
Menu: Tools > Delete Browsing History Make sure the ‘cookies’ checkbox is checked and click the Delete button.
However, this will have the side effect of logging you out of any other sites that use cookies for login.
A third alternative is to try a private browsing session. This will not permanently affect the state of your browser, but will temporarily cause you browser to act as if cookies had been deleted:
Menu: Tools > InPrivate browsing.
Once you close the window with your private browsing session, you browser will revert to how it was, so any benefit (or negative effect) of using this method should be temporary.
SAFARI
Menu: Tools icon (a gear) > Preferences Click Security tab Click “Show Cookies” button Select cookies from the domains “disqus.com”, mcclatchydc.disqus.com, and mcclatchydc.com and click the “Remove” button. Alternately, you can click the “Remove All” button, although this will have the side affect of logging you out of sites with cookie based logins.

CHROME
Click the tools icon (a wrench), select Options.
Click the “Under the Hood” tab.
Click the “Content Settings” button.
Click the “Show cookies and other site data” button.
In the list of domains, find ‘disqus.com’. Use the Remove button to remove all cookies under ‘disqus.com’.
In the list of domains, find ‘disqus.mcclatchydc.com.’ Use the Remove button to remove all cookies in this folder.
In the list of domains, find mcclatchydc. Use the Remove button to remove all cookies in this folder. If you do not want to remove all cookies from mcclatchydc, you can try just removing the cookie whose name ends in “user_auth”.
