RALEIGH, N.C. -- Kay Yow died this morning, cancer finally taking her from the game — and the players — she wouldn’t quit.
Yow, North Carolina State University’s longtime women’s basketball coach and a member of the Basketball Hall of Fame, died after a second struggle with breast cancer. She was 66.
For all her personal accomplishments, Yow considered her greatest achievement to be how she touched the lives of her players and expanded the horizons for all girls interested in sports.
