ANCHORAGE, Alaska — A convicted murderer out on parole has been charged with murdering again.
Kenneth Wahl, 45, was charged Thursday with first-degree murder in the death of Elisa Orcutt, a 47-year-old woman found dead in her Anchorage home just off West International Airport Road on June 23, said prosecutor Taylor Winston.
Police say Wahl, who had failed to report as required to his parole officer, was doing yardwork for Orcutt the last day she was seen alive. Her body was found several days later.
Back in 1983, Wahl was convicted of first-degree murder in the death of Edward "Larry" Delany, 40. Police said Wahl slashed Delany about 40 times after a one-night sexual encounter. He was sentenced to serve 45 years and was first paroled in 2005. Since then, he has repeatedly been arrested on parole and probation violations, locked up for short periods, then set free.
Investigators have said they know of no connection between Wahl and Orcutt beyond his doing yardwork at her home.
