RALEIGH — Six of the seven arrested suspects in a federal terrorism case are now being held in a Virginia jail.
The move came after a federal judge's decision Wednesday that the men should be jailed pending their trials because they are flight risks.
Daniel Boyd, 39, the suspected ringleader, his sons Zakariya, 20, and Dylan, 22; Mohammad Omar Aly Hassan, 22, Hysen Sherifi, 24, and Ziyad Yaghi, 21, were moved to Piedmont Regional Jail in Farmville, Va., said Bryan Konig, a deputy U.S. Marshal with the Eastner District of North Carolina.
They had been at the Wake County Jail.
Konig could not say why and when they were moved, but he did say the Virginia jail has a contract with the U.S. Marshals Service to house federal inmates.
