Police found more bones Wednesday in their search of Phillip Garrido's Antioch-area home and an adjoining property, but said they did not know whether they were human or animal.
The search is set to continue today, with Dublin and Hayward police looking for evidence that might tie Garrido to the 1988 abduction of 9-year-old Michaela Garecht and the 1989 disappearance of 13-year-old Ilene Misheloff.
Both girls disappeared after Garrido had been released from prison on convictions for a 1976 kidnap-rape case and after he had returned to Antioch.
The 58-year-old sex offender and his 54-year-old wife, Nancy, are being held on charges of raping, abducting and holding 11-year-old Jaycee Lee Dugard captive for 18 years.
A bone fragment was found in an earlier search of the yard next to the Garrido home, and authorities later said it was likely human, although they noted that Native American remains have been found in the region.
