A woman posing as a police officer forced her way into a southeast Wichita home Thursday night, assaulted the 95-year-old man who lives there and robbed him.
She knocked on the victim's door in southeast Wichita at about 9:30 p.m. and asked to come in, claiming she was a cop, police said. The man asked to see identification and refused to open the door.
The impostor showed him a card through a window, but he still refused to let her in. She then forced her way inside, damaging the door frame, and shoved the elderly man onto a couch, police said.
She went to his bedroom, where she stole his wallet and property from a dresser drawer before leaving, police said.
