Men face federal charges in sex trafficking of underage girls

Richard Mauer - Anchorage Daily News

December 18, 2009 07:28 PM

Federal sex trafficking charges involving three underage girls and 17 women, all from Alaska, have been brought against four Anchorage residents, U.S. Attorney Karen Loeffler announced Friday.

The 41-count federal indictment, handed up by a grand jury yesterday and announced today at a press conference in Anchorage, accuses the four defendants of conspiracy to commit sex trafficking of children by force, fraud and coercion.

Loeffler said three of the defendants, all men, are in custody: Sabil Mumin Mujahid, Sidney Lamar Greene and Rand Hooks. Police and the FBI are looking for the fourth: Keyana "Koko" Marshall, a 21-year-old woman.

The four are also charged with using Craigslist to promote prostitution. Mujahid and Greene are charged with possessing child pornography, and Greene is additionally charged with producing child porn. Mujahid and Greene face tax charges for claiming deductions on their taxes for some of the women and their children, Loeffler said.

The ring operated out of an Anchorage building and paid at least part of its rent by giving sexual services to Hooks, the landlord for a portion of the 2006 to 2009 timespan covered in the indictment.
