A 21-year-old Bluffton, S.C., man was arrested last week after a resident found the man — a stranger — pantless, asleep and intoxicated in the back seat of her minivan, which was parked in the driveway of the woman's Hidden Lakes home, according to a Bluffton Police Department report released Saturday.
Around 5 a.m. on Jan. 16, the resident looked out to see her van's sliding door open and a man laying down inside, the report said. She had left the doors unlocked the night before, she told police.
Police found the man "spitting, drooling and slobbering on the van seat," the report said. He began swearing after he awoke, it said.
Aside from the drool, the van was not damaged and nothing was stolen from it, the report said.
The officer told the man to put his pants back on. The man said he took them off in the van before falling asleep, the report said. He then continued cursing and "refused to allow the police to help him," the report said.
The man was arrested on a charge of public disorderly conduct and taken to the Beaufort County Detention Center.
