Albuquerque police early Thursday arrested the owner of a business linked to the seven heads and tubs of body parts found at a medical facility at Kansas City, Kan.
Paul Montano, 31, is in jail charged with three counts of fraud over $500. He has a court hearing today and his case will go to Bernalillo County district attorney’s office for presentation to a grand jury, a prosecutor spokesman said.
For now, Montano is being held on $100,000 bond. His arrest came after investigators spoke with Montano on Wednesday.
Court records allege that a business he operated did not provide promised cremations on donated bodies. In one case, they say, a family was given ashes that were supposedly those of a man later identified as among body parts in Kansas City, Kan.
