California's job market continued struggling last month, as 20,300 jobs vanished across the state and Sacramento unemployment rose to its highest level in more than a decade.
The state's unemployment rate held steady at 5.9 percent, but Sacramento-area unemployment rose a half-point to 6.4 percent, the state's Employment Development Department reported Friday.
What's more, the annual revision of job numbers suggest that 2007 was a tougher year than originally reported. The revised numbers show that only 40,700 jobs were created in California last year. That was a 0.3 percent growth rate, or about half of what was previously reported.
