It practically always takes Chris and Elizabeth Maynard longer to get home from grocery shopping than it takes them to get there.
That's because of their car. It's electric.
The Columbus couple often finds people, armed with questions, examining their car in the parking lot.
"Sometimes we'll talk for about 20 minutes," Chris said. "People are interested."
Chris, 42, is director of implementation for Delta Data Software. Elizabeth, 37, owns Fountain City Massage, which she operates out of the their Mobley Walk Drive home.
He is a "Ronald Reagan conservative." She is a "Clinton liberal." But they agree for sure on two things, Chris said: They don't eat meat, and they love their electric car.
The car is a ZENN, which stands for Zero Emission No Noise. It was delivered to them on the Fourth of July.
