Miley Cyrus fans in Kansas City are finding out what it's like to be on entertainment's cutting edge.
Her tour went to paperless tickets to help cut back on scalpers buying blocks of seats to her popular concerts and shutting out average fans.
But what happens when Miley gets sick, cancels her Oct. 3 concert at the Sprint Center and reschedules for Oct. 17?
Some fans are finding out.
Those who can't make the new date won't be able to just hand the tickets off or sell them to a friend. Paperless tickets mean the original buyer has to show up in person, credit card and government-issued ID in hand.
"We realize the process is different than normal," said Shani Tate, Sprint spokeswoman.
The Sprint Center can't promise to fix every ticket holder's problem, but venue officials say they will try.
The teen sensation's concert tour is groundbreaking in several ways.
It's Sprint Center's first completely paperless concert, and two of Miley's dates may be the first completely paperless concert to get rescheduled, first in Omaha then in Kansas City.
