Smog in the Charlotte area is expected to reach potentially unhealthy levels this afternoon.
State air-quality forecasters predict smog will fall into the Code Orange range – unhealthy for people sensitive to smog, such as children with asthma or other respiratory diseases.
The worst of the bad air will be from noon to early evening, the N.C. Division of Air Quality said. The division advises active adults and children, especially those with respiratory diseases, to limit their outdoor exertion during that time.
