A charge of sexual assault against a former Buchanan High student and wrestler was dropped this morning as part of a mediation agreement between the boy and his accuser, a former wrestling teammate.
The charge was dropped at a Fresno County Superior Court hearing. Last week, Preston Hill, 17, decided to resolve his criminal case by taking part in a mediation session with the teammate he was accused of sexually assaulting during wrestling practice.
Hill and his accuser, a Buchanan freshman, along with their attorneys and families agreed to the mediation, which was the first step for Hill in getting the sexual battery charge dismissed.
The mediation session was organized by members of the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department's SHARE program. SHARE stands for Stop Hate and Respect Others.
