When it comes to back-to-school products, a significant percentage of British Columbians plan to shop in the U.S. now through Labor Day weekend.
That's one of the insights gleaned from a survey put together by Visa Canada to find out the patterns of Canadian shoppers. According to the survey done last month, 21 percent of back-to-school purchases by British Columbians will be in U.S. stores, while 36 percent of B.C. online purchases will be on U.S. websites.
Those B.C. shopping percentages are much higher than Canada's national average: Canadians as a whole plan to spend 15 percent of back-to-school purchases in U.S. stores, while 27 percent of online purchases will be done on U.S. websites.
