Baghdad
-- Around 3:40 p.m. a parked car bomb exploded in Al Saidiya (south west Baghdad) targeting an Iraqi national police patrol. One policeman was killed and another two were injured.
-- Around 4:30 p.m. a parked car bomb exploded in Sadr City, Al Habibia area (east Baghdad) near used cars trading park. The explosion targeted civilians and claimed the lives of 4 civilians and caused injuries to 20.
-- Around 5:30 p.m. a roadside bomb exploded targeting civilians in Al Latifia (south of Baghdad). The blast claimed the lives of two civilians.
-- Police found 5 anonymous corpses in Baghdad, all the corpses were found on the western side of Baghdad (Karkh) in the following neighborhoods: 2 corpses in Yarmouk, 1 corpse in each of Ghazaliya, Saidiyah and Dora.
Diyala
-- Baqouba city central morgue received 11 dead bodies of policemen today, a health dept. official said. One day earlier 12 policemen were kidnapped on the main road leading to Saadiat Al Shat village. A radical Sunni group posted a statement on an insurgent website in which they claimed responsibility of the kidnapping and posted images of the men in uniforms. The group said it is to revenge the rape incident of Sabreen al Janabi and gave the government 24 hours to release all Sunni women in prisons and to trade the kidnapped officers for the officers responsible for the rape, the statement said on Thursday. Today another statement said the group killed the kidnapped men.
