Roundup of violence in Iraq - 1 February 2007

The daily Iraq violence report is compiled by McClatchy Newspapers Special Correspondent Ali Fadaam in Baghdad from police, military and medical reports. This is not a comprehensive list of all violence in Iraq, much of which goes unreported. Itís posted without editing as transmitted to McClatchyís Washington Bureau.

1-Baghdad The sours the M.O.I Operation room.

(10) Anonymous bodies were found in the last 24 hours from 8am. yesterday till 8am. today in deferent parts of Baghdad (2) in Al-Yarmuk west of Baghdad (2) in Bayaa south west of Baghdad (2) Al-Amil west of Baghdad (2) in Al-Kadhmiya north of Baghdad and (2) in Al-Sadder city northeast of Baghdad.

12:30pm. (6) civilians killed and (12) wounded in a suicide bomber attack in al-Karradah district near St Raphael hospital.

11:00 Am. (1) civilian killed and (9) others wounded in al-Adhamiya district after a mortar attack.

1:45pm. (3) civilians killed and (7) others wounded in an explosion of a parked car bomb in the mid of Baghdad in al Rashid street near Al-Risafi statue.

4:00 p.m. mortar shells targeted Al Saleekh neighborhood. 1 civilian killed and 7 wounded.

4:30 p.m. mortar shells targeted Al Qahira neighborhood, 4 civilians were injured.

Around 5 p.m. mortars targeted Al Kadhimiya neighborhood, 1 civilian killed and 9 wounded.

Police found 25 dead bodies all over Baghdad.

2- Dayala

Arresting a terrorist Emir by the Iraqi police in Baladroz security source in the city of Baladroz (45Km East of Baaquba) said this morning Thursday 07-02-01:- the Major crime and terrorism department in the city police of Baladroz managed to arrest the terrorist Kahlid Jamil Al-Azi who runs a terrorist cell in the city and responsible for the killing and assonating (18) people in the city.

Security source: Assassination of the dean of Physical Education collage of Dayala Dr. Walhan Hamed and his son Ahmed today afternoon in the city of Baaquba by a terrorist grope.

Arresting (50) wanted and suspects in the city of Khanaqin by the security forces after an attack by I.E.D two days ago by the Takfiris on a Hosseni consolation parade

Salah Aldine

The governor of Saladin Hamad Hamoud Alshkuti survived an I.E.D attack today inside the campus of Tikrit university. Police source said that an I.E.D was placed under a car in the entrance of the collage of law and the explosion cased (4) students wounded and three cars burned and another security source said that a suicide bomber wearing an explosive belt exploded himself near the governors car.

Basra

The spokeswomen of the MNF kitty brown said that two British military Bases exposed yesterday night and this morning to bombing with Katyosha missiles and a number of mortar shells without any damages. And she add that the British base in the Basra international Airport northwest of Basra exposed last night to attack by Katyosha missile and in the middle of Basra the British consulate exposed to mortar attack without mentioning the number of the shells felled on the consulate.

Kirkuk

(1) One soldier killed and wounding (1) officer and (1) civilian in Kirkuk yesterday Wednesday 2007-01-31. Iraqi Military source in Kirkuk said :- I.E.D exploded yesterday Wednesday 01-031 on a n Iraqi army patrol cased killing one soldier and wounding an officer and one civilian.

Police source said:- (6) mortar shells felled down on koreah area near the garage of Kirkuk without any casualties.

Hilla province

Around 6:00 p.m. 2 suicide wearing bomb vests bombed themselves in a crowded market in Hilla city near the stationary market, police said. 45 citizens were killed and 125 wounded.
