Roundup of violence in Iraq - 15 December

The daily Iraq violence report is compiled by McClatchy Newspapers Special Correspondent Mohammed al Awsy in Baghdad from police, military and medical reports. This is not a comprehensive list of all violence in Iraq, much of which goes unreported. Itís posted without editing as transmitted to McClatchyís Washington Bureau.

Baghdad . at 3 o'clock this afternoon a mortar shell fell at AL YASEEN sunni mosque in DORA area southern Baghdad, no casualties were reported but there was damage to some parts of the mosque .

at 4 o'clock this evening an IED exploded near the railway station in AL QADISYAH area, 1 civilian was killed and 2 others were injured.

today 22 dead bodies were found in Baghdad, some were tortured and handcuffed, 1 was found in shaab area, 1 madaain, 2 sadr city, 4 amil, 3 hurriyah, 2 bayaa, 3 shoala, 1 saidiyah, 2 dora, 1 adil, 1 kadhemiyah and 1 abu atsheer.

BASRA province . according to the spokesman of the MNF in the south captain TANE DUNLOP 3 British bases were attacked since last night by 12 katusha missiles and 1 RPG, but no casualties were reported. After that the British forces made a raid in northern BASRA and found a big number of weapons.

according to eye witnesses, a group of gunmen wearing police uniforms have killed this afternoon sheikh MIHSIN KANAAN, he is one of BANI TIMEEM tribal sheikhs, with two other men and a third person was injured, it happened at al korneesh street (city centre).

DIYALA province . according to a close source of the MNF in AL KHALIS town 15km north of baqouba, joint forces from the Iraqi army and American troops have killed 10 terrorists and arrested a terrorist leader called SAMEER ABDUL AZZIZ AL ADHAMI (abu tubar). this happened when a clashes broke up between 2 villages (dojamah and zanboor).
