The daily Iraqi violence report is compiled by McClatchy Newspapers Special Correspondents in Baghdad from police, military and medical reports. This is not a comprehensive list of all violence in Iraq, much of which goes unreported. It’s posted without editing as transmitted to McClatchy’s Washington Bureau.

Baghdad

3 people were injured when 2 mortar shells hit Al Ferdaws square in Karrada neighborhood at 8,00 am.

A civilian was wounded when mortar shell hit Al Salhiyah neighborhood downtown Baghdad at 8,10 am.

A civilian was killed and 3 others wounded in an IED explosion in Saidiyah neighborhood south Baghdad around 8,40 am.

2 civilians were injured when 2 mortar shells hit Al Ghazaliyah neighborhood west Baghdad around 2,00 pm.

The following incident happened after 5,00 pm

A civilian was killed and another wounded in Abo Ghraib area west Baghdad.

3 Iraqi soldiers were wounded in an IED explosion targeted their vehicle in Bab Al Muatham neighborhood downtown Baghdad.

2 civilians were killed and 4 others wounded when mortar shells hit Jisr Diyala area southeast Baghdad.

Gunmen killed Dr. Isam basher Hindi in Al Jamia’a neighborhood west Baghdad.

21 bodies were found in Baghdad today. 18 bodies were found in Karkh, the western side of Baghdad in trhe following neighborhoods (5 bodies in Saidiyah, 3 bodies in Amil, 3 bodies in Bayaa, 2 bodies in Doura, 2 bodies in Jihad, 1 body in Eskan, 1 body in Shoala and 1 body in Mansour), 3 bodies were found in Rusafa, the eastern side of Baghdad in the following neighborhoods (1 body in New Baghdad, 1 body in Obeidi and 1 body in Sleikh).

Kirkuk

A civilian was injured when gunmen opened fire on Al Hawija- Al Abbasi motorway west of Kirkuk yesterday evening.

2 civilians were wounded in an IED explosion in Korneesh street downtown Kirkuk city yesterday evening.

Colonel Adil Zain Al Abideen from Kirkuk city police directorate said that a police patrol found the body of a Syrian citizen in Wahid Huzairan neighborhood downtown Kirkuk city today morning.

A police man was injured when in an IED explosion targeted a police patrol in the industrial area west Kirkuk around 9,15 am.

A member of the infrastructure battalion was injured when gunmen opened fire in the industrial area in Hawija town west of Kirkuk around 11,45 am.
