The daily Iraqi violence report is compiled by McClatchy Newspapers Special Correspondents in Baghdad from police, military and medical reports. This is not a comprehensive list of all violence in Iraq, much of which goes unreported. It’s posted without editing as transmitted to McClatchy’s Washington Bureau.

Baghdad

2 civilians were killed and 4 wounded in clashes between the Iraqi army and Mahdi army in Washash neighborhood west Baghdad around 1,00 pm.

Police found 8 bodies in Baghdad today, 6 bodies were found in Karkh, the western side of Baghdad in the following neighborhoods (4 women bodies in Doura, 2 bodies in Amil). 2 bodies were found in Rusafa, the eastern side of Baghdad in the neighborhoods ( 1 body in Sadr and 1 body in Shaab.)

Basra

Sources from the morgue of Basra said that the morgue received three women’s bodies today morning. Two bodies were found in Al Hayaniyah neighborhood (8 Kms west Basra city) while the third body was found in Al Jihad neighborhood (10 Kms west Basra).

Kirkuk

Two Iraqi army members were killed and a civilian was injured in an IED explosion in Tis’in area downtown Kirkuk last night.

Kirkuk police found a body of a civilian near Bajwan village north of Kirkuk last night.

A civilian was injured when unknown gunmen shot the villages of Al Sariyah and AlSada west of Kirkuk yesterday night.

Two civilians were wounded when gunmen bombed the house of the former chief of Hawija police city downtown Hawija city west Kirkuk.
