The daily Iraqi violence report is compiled by McClatchy Newspapers Special Correspondents in Baghdad from police, military and medical reports. This is not a comprehensive list of all violence in Iraq, much of which goes unreported. It’s posted without editing as transmitted to McClatchy’s Washington Bureau.

Baghdad

A civilian (cleaning worker) was killed and two other workers wounded in an IED explosion in Al Ghadeer neighborhood east Baghdad around 10,00 am.

One civilian was killed and two others wounded in an IED explosion inside a sedan car in AL Tobchi neighborhood north east Baghdad around 3,15 pm.

Police found 5 dead bodies throughout Baghdad.1 in New Baghdad, 1 in Shaab, 2 in Amil, 1 in Doura

Babil

Three policemen were injured in an IED explosion that targeted their patrol in Eskandariyah town north of Hilla city today morning.

Three civilians were killed and nine others were injured in an IED explosion that targeted a mini bus on Baghdad- Hilla Street today morning.

Gunmen killed Mohammed Al Rubaiee, the mayor of Hettin neighborhood in Hilla city south of Baghdad today morning.

Kirkuk

Two policemen were injured in an IED explosion that targeted their vehicle near the fuel station in Al Khadhraa neighborhood south Kirkuk early morning today.

Two Iraqi army soldiers from the first battalion of the 2nd brigade of the Iraqi army were killed in an IED explosion that targeted their patrol in Hawija town west of Kirkuk yesterday night.

Police found a body of a civilian in Yaiji west of Kirkuk city yesterday night. Police said that the body was for a 22 years old man and he was shot in his back.

Five civilians were kidnapped by gunmen on the street between Taza and Rashad towns west of Kirkuk yesterday night. Another civilian was kidnapped in the same area by another gunmen, police said.
