Round-up of daily Violence - Sunday 11 November 2007

The daily Iraq violence report is complied by McClatchy Newspapers Special Correspondents in Baghdad from police, military and medical reports. This is not a comprehensive list of all violence in Iraq, much of which goes unreported. It's posted without editing as transmitted to McClatchy's Washington Bureau.

Baghdad

- Around 8 a.m., a roadside bomb targeted an American patrol at Baladiyat neighborhood ( north east Baghdad ) . No casualties reported.

- Around 1 p.m., gunmen threw a grenade on a Kia mini bus at Mansour neighborhood near the fine arts institution ( near the Zawra main street ) injuring 5 people.

- Around 2 p.m., an American patrol opened fire on an Iraqi police check point at Doura near the (60) street in the neighborhood ( south Baghdad ) injuring 3 policemen .

- Around 2.m., a roadside bomb targeted an American patrol in Palestine street ( east Baghdad) . No casualties reported.

- Police found ( 4 ) unidentified dead bodies in the following neighborhoods in Baghdad:( 3 ) were found in west Baghdad ( Karkh bank ) ;1 in Doura , 1 in Baya’a and 1 in Saidiyah.While one was found in Sleikh in Risafa bank ( east Baghdad ).

Mosul

- Today , the governor of Mosul , Dureed Kashmoola and the general brigadier Wathiq Al-Hamadni , the chief in command of Mosul police , survived from two assassination attempts by two roadside bombs , one in the forest area and the second one was few minutes after that first one near the north bus station area . No casualties recorded.

Diyala

The following incidents happened in Diyala today :

- The jointed forces from the Iraqi army , the American army and the battalions ) raided 7 km north of Baquba arresting 2 suspected men and confiscated 5 stolen cars.

- A joint forces from the Iraqi army and American forces raided a place in Buhrz ( 3 km south Baquba ) arresting 4 wanted men and confiscated some weapons . When the force was about to leave , a gunman opened fire on the force which made the latter open fire killing him at once.

- The deputy governor of Wajihiyah village( 20 km east Baquba ) had survived from an assassination attempt in his village . Two of his guards was injured in the incident .- Ten gunmen kidnapped two students from inside the technical institute in Baquba and after leaving they killed one student in their random shooting.

- Baquba police exploded a house with a controlled one in Muqdadiyah ( 30 km east Baquba ) .
