Round-up of Daily Violence in Iraq Tuesday 13 November 2007

The daily Iraqi violence report is compiled by McClatchy Newspapers Special Correspondents in Baghdad from police, military and medical reports. This is not a comprehensive list of all violence in Iraq, much of which goes unreported. It’s posted without editing as transmitted to McClatchy’s Washington Bureau.

Baghdad

Around 6,30 am, a parked car bomb exploded near Mohammed Al Baqir Shiite mosque in New Baghdad neighborhood east Baghdad. No casualties recorded.

4 people were injured (3 policemen and a civilian) in an IED explosion that targeted a police patrol in Al Masbah crossroad in Karrada neighborhood downtown Baghdad around 9,00 am.

The security forces found 6 car bombs in Adhemiyah neighborhood northeast Baghdad. The security forces defused the cars without recording any casualties.

6 anonymous bodies were found in Baghdad today. 3 bodies were found in Rusafa, the eastern side of Baghdad in the following neighborhoods (1 body in Sadr city, 1 body in UR and 1 body in Qahira). The 3 other bodies were found in Karkh, the western side of Baghdad in the following neighborhoods (1 body in Amil, 1 body in Saidiyah and 1 body in Doura).

Diyala

2 Iraqi soldiers were killed and 2 others were injured in an IED explosion that targeted their patrol in Al Hashimiyat area (10 Kms west of Baquba city) today morning.

3 civilians were wounded in an IED explosion in Buhruz town south of Baquba city today afternoon.

Kirkuk

Gunmen driving a sedan car (Opel Model) opened fire targeting a police officer killing him and injuring his wife while they were in their car in Al Wasiti neighborhood downtown Kirkuk around 8,05 am.

A family of five members (2 sons + 2 daughters + the mother) was killed yesterday night near Qadir Kam village northeast of Kirkuk city. Police took the bodies to Chamchamal hospital and the police started the investigations about the incident.

The Kurdish security forces known as Ashayis found today afternoon a body or a civilian in one of the areas of Lailan district southeast Kirkuk city. The family of the killed man said that he had left the house ten days ago. Sings of shooting were obvious on the body.

6 Iraqi soldiers including an officer from the 2nd battalion- the 2nd army brigade were wounded in an IED explosion that targeted their patrol on the street between Reyadh town and Kirkuk city west of Kirkuk around 11,10. the security forces arrested a man who is suspected to detonate the IED by remote control.
