The daily Iraqi violence report is compiled by McClatchy Newspapers Special Correspondents in Baghdad from police, military and medical reports. This is not a comprehensive list of all violence in Iraq, much of which goes unreported. It’s posted without editing as transmitted to McClatchy’s Washington Bureau.

Baghdad Five people including two policemen were wounded in a roadside bomb that targeted a police patrol in Zafaraniyah area southeast Baghdad around 7:00 a.m. Four civilians were wounded in a roadside bomb that targeted a patrol for the Iraqi army in Husseiniyah neighborhood in northeast Baghdad around 12:30 p.m.

Four civilians including two Iraqi soldiers were wounded in a roadside bomb that targeted an Iraq army patrol in Jamia’a neighborhood in west Baghdad around 2:00 p.m.

Two civilians were wounded in a roadside bomb in Shaab neighborhood north Baghdad around 3:00 p.m.

Seven civilians were wounded when a Katyosha rocket hit Raghiba Khatoon area in Adhemiyah neighborhood north Baghdad around 5:00p.m. tow houses were damaged in the explosion.

A roadside bomb exploded near Beirut intersection in east Baghdad targeting a US convoy. No casualties reported.

Police found three unidentified bodied throughout Baghdad (1 body in Amil, 1 body in Bayaa and 1 body in Ur.)

Dohuk

Iraqi police found the bodies of two Iraqis near the Iraqi Turkish borders north of Baghdad. People from the area told the police that the two men (Adil Khawasti and Saleem Mustafa) went for hunting six days ago and the Turkish forces shot them dead inside the Iraqi borders.

Basra

An insurgent was killed while he was trying to plant an IED in Hakimiyah neighborhood in downtown Basra city around 2:00 pm. A civilian was killed and five other were wounded.
