This is not a comprehensive list of all violence in Iraq, much of which goes unreported. It's posted without editing as transmitted to McClatchy's Washington Bureau.
Baghdad
A roadside bomb targeted a U.S. military convoy in Baladiyat, east Baghdad at noon, Saturday. One military vehicle was destroyed, according to Iraqi police. No comment was available from the U.S. military at time of publication.
Nineveh
Gunmen killed two Christians in al-Wahda neighbourhood and two in al-Mithaq neighbourhood, Friday evening.
Gunmen opened fire upon the motorcade of a member of the provincial council in al-Shurta neighbourhood, central Mosul. Yahya Abid Mahjoob, a member of the Iraqi Islamic Party survived the attempt. His security returned fire and killed one of the gunmen.
Gunmen opened fire on a police foot patrol (two policemen) killing one and injuring the other. The injured policeman returned fire killing one gunman, one civilian, injuring two civilians.
Three houses of Christian families who had fled the recent violence in Mosul have been blown up by gunmen. All three houses were located in al-Sukkar neighbourhood in western Mosul.
Diyala
A roadside bomb targeted a group of workers in the brick plant in Beledruz, 45 km to the east of Baquba at 7.30 a.m. Saturday injuring four workers.
One civilian was killed and another injured during a police raid in an orchard 4 km to the west of Baquba at around 12.45 p.m.
Kirkuk
A roadside bomb targeted Mulla Mohammed Azad, deputy head of the Endowment Office in Kirkuk in Teppa neighbourhood, Saturday. Azad, his wife and one of his security personnel were injured.
Gunmen opened fire upon journalist Dyar Abbas in front of the Artists' Union, central Kirkuk. He was severely injured and died in hospital. Abbas worked for al-Ain, an independent news agency.
