This is not a comprehensive list of all violence in Iraq, much of which goes unreported. It’s posted without editing as transmitted to McClatchy’s Washington Bureau.

Nineveh

Salahuddin

According to Iraqi police in Salahuddin province north of Baghdad, An American force raided a house in al Zohoor neighborhood in downtown Tikrit city around 1 a.m. The force killed two people from one family. One killed was named Emad Sleman al Sharqi, a policeman. The second man is Arkan Maseer al Sharqi. No more details were provided by the Iraqi police. U.S. military officials confirmed the incident in a statement saying that the two are terrorists."The 4th Emergency Response Battalion, with Coalition forces advisors, mortally wounded two suspected terrorists while attempting to arrest them during an operation in Tikrit May 1 pursuant to a warrant issued by the Tikrit High Crimes Court,” the statement said. Itt added, "Both of the men were associated with developing and emplacing improvised explosive devices targeting Iraqi and Coalition forces in the Tikrit area. After entering the residence of the individual listed on the warrant, Tikrit ERB and CF advisors moved to arrest the suspect. After repeated calls in Arabic to drop their weapons, the suspect and an associate resisted arrest by aiming their weapons at friendly forces. For their own safety and the safety of their Iraqi partners, CF advisors shot the two men."
