The daily Iraq violence report is compiled by McClatchy Newspapers Special Correspondents in Baghdad from police, military and medical reports. This is not a comprehensive list of all violence in Iraq, much of which goes unreported. It's posted without editing as transmitted to McClatchy's Washington Bureau.

Baghdad

A magnetic bomb targeted a taxi in Sheikh Maafouf neighbourhood, central Baghdad at 7.30 a.m. injuring two civilians.

Anbar

A magnetic bomb was stuck to the car belonging to Sabah Abdulsahab, an engineer working in Fallujah General Hospital, Friday evening. Abdulsahab, who lost both his legs and is in critical condition in hospital, is brother to the advisor of Rafi' al Essawi, Deputy PM.

A parked car bomb targeted the motorcade of 1LT Khalid Mohammed al Halbusi, investigative officer in the police force at 6.30 Saturday. The explosion killed Halbusi and seriously injured four of his security detail and also injured six civilians.

Three mortar rounds targeted Ramadi Police Station in south Ramadi at 1 p.m. Saturday. Two rounds fell short but the third hit the station killing two police officers and injuring six others including a major.

Nineveh

Gunmen opened fire upon a car driven by a policeman with his father in the passenger seat in Suq al Maash neighbourhood, eastern Mosul, Saturday. The policeman was killed and his father injured.

Police discovered and detonated under control an IED hidden in a plastic bag, planted on the side of the street near Mosul University, Saturday morning.

A roadside bomb exploded near a plants nursery in central Mosul, Saturday morning, injuring one officer and one civilian.

Kirkuk

A suicide truck bomb detonated in front of al Resool Mosque in Taza district, southwest Kirkuk at 12.30 Saturday. The tremendous explosion killed at least 67 people, injuring more than 200 others and destroying 30 houses.

A group of gunmen ambushed and stabbed to death a policeman near Azadi Bridge, central Kirkuk on Friday.

A roadside bomb exploded near a plants nursery in central Mosul, Saturday morning, injuring one officer and one civilian.
