Round-up of Daily Violence in Iraq - Thursday 27 August, 2009

The daily Iraq violence report is compiled by McClatchy Newspapers Special Correspondents in Baghdad from police, military and medical reports. This is not a comprehensive list of all violence in Iraq, much of which goes unreported. It's posted without editing as transmitted to McClatchy's Washington Bureau.

Baghdad

Two magnetic bombs stuck to two civilian cars exploded, early Thursday in Ras al Hawash, Adhamiyah injuring 12 civilians.

A car bomb parked in a parking lot near the entrance of Taji military base, northern Baghdad exploded at 8 a.m. Thursday killing one civilian, injuring five others.

A roadside bomb targeted a police patrol in Beirut Square, eastern Baghdad, Thursday afternoon, injuring two policemen and two civilians.

A roadside bomb went off in New Baghdad, Eastern Baghdad, at 3.30 p.m. Thursday injuring two policemen and two civilians.

A roadside bomb targeted an American military patrol in Ghazaliyah neighbourhood, western Baghdad, Wednesday evening. No casualties were reported.

A roadside bomb targeted civilians in New Baghdad neighbourhood, eastern Baghdad at 9 p.m. Wednesday injuring one policeman and two civilians.

A roadside bomb targeted civilians in Mansour neighbourhood, central Baghdad at 9.30 p.m. Wednesday injuring two civilians.

Nineveh

A roadside bomb targeted a police patrol in Baladiyat neighbourhood, northern Mosul, Thurday afternoon, killing one policeman and injuring another.

A roadside bomb targeted an Iraqi army patrol in al Muhendiseen neighbourhood, Thursday evening, killing one civilian and injuring a serviceman.
