Baghdad
A roadside bomb targeted the motorcade of Maj. Gen. Ahmed Sabri from the Federal Police (formerly the National Police) in Jadriyah, southern Baghdad at 10.30 a.m. Monday injuring one policeman and three civilians.
A magnetic bomb was stuck to the private car of a high-ranking officer in the ministry of interior, the director general of security for embassies in Iraq, in Karrada, southern Baghdad, at 2 p.m. Monday, seriously injuring the officer himself and four civilian passers-by.
Diyala
The sons of the mayor of Abu Khamees neighbourhood, 10 km to the south of Baquba were targeted by a roadside bomb, Monday afternoon. The explosion killed two and seriously injured the other. All three young men were Sahwa members (a militia that was supported by the U.S. military and then turned over to the Iraqi government).
A roadside bomb targeted construction workers near Diyala broadcasting establishment in Buhruz, 4 km to the south of Baquba, Monday, killing one worker and injuring two others.
Anbar
The house of one of the Sahwa leaders (a militia that was supported by the U.S. military and then turned over to the Iraqi government) was blown up Monday without casualties because the family had abandoned the house.
Nineveh
Gunmen in a speeding car shot and killed a construction contractor in the town of Aski Mosul, 25 km to the west of Mosul, Monday morning.
