Baghdad
Three parked car bombs targeted car parks used by employees who work inside the Green Zone, at 7.30 a.m. Tuesday. The first car bomb detonated in the car park opposite to the Iranian Embassy. The second detonated across the street from the Ministry of Immigration and Displaced and the third detonated in a car park opposite to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Four civilians were killed and another fourteen injured in all three explosions.
Three mortar rounds targeted the military base in Baladiyat, east Baghdad, Tuesday. No casualties were reported.
Gunmen in a speeding car opened fire and seriously wounded senior municipality official in Sadr City, Hussein Shamma, and his brother.
Nineveh
Two car bombs targeted Mariamana Church in al Shifaa neighbourhood, Tuesday. The first explosion caused material damages to the church and a few minutes later – after a crowd had gathered, the second explosion went off killing four civilians and injuring forty others.
A roadside bomb targeted al Athraa Church in al Majmu'a al Thaqafiyah neighbourhood in northern Mosul, Tuesday. The explosion caused material damages to the church only.
An IED planted on the side of the road was detonated under control in Suq al Nebi neighbourhood, Tuesday. The explosion injured one civilian.
A police patrol found the body of a businessman, Abdulqadir al Aglat, in Mosul, Tuesday. Aglat was kidnapped some hours previously from al Rayhaniyah village.
