Baghdad
A roadside bomb targeted Sheikh Latif, commander of Sahwa in Daraa neighbourhood in Mada'in district, south of Baghdad, killing the sheikh and injuring two of his companions.
An IED left inside a minibus detonated near Salahuddin Square in Kathimiyah neighbourhood, northwest Baghdad at 4 p.m. Wednesday killing two civilians and injuring another five.
A magnetic bomb stuck to the car of Abdulrazaq Mohammed, a colonel in the Major Crimes department, detonated at 8 p.m. Tuesday, seriously injuring the colonel.
A magnetic bomb stuck to the car of a policeman detonated in Baladiyat neighbourhood, east Baghdad at8.30 p.m. Tuesday injuring the policeman himself only.
Armed men threw a hand grenade at the guards of the grain storage building in Hurriyah neighbourhood, northwest Baghdad at 9 p.m. Tuesday, injuring two guards.
A car bomb parked in a lot across the main street from one of the entrances to the Green Zone, near the Ministry of Immigration detonated at 10.30 p.m. Tuesday, injuring five civilians.
Nineveh
A gunman opened fire at a checkpoint in Nebi Younis neighbourhood, east Mosul, Wednesday, manned by Iraqi army and killed one serviceman.
Men armed with pistols fitted with silencers killed the owner of a neighbourhood generator (who sells electricity to neighbouring houses) in Shurta neighbourhood, north Mosul, late Tuesday.
Insurgents threw a thermal charge at a police patrol in Sa'a neighbourhood, central Mosul, Tuesday evening, injuring one policeman and one civilian woman.
