Baghdad
A roadside bomb targeted civilians near al Numan Park in Athamiyah neighbourhood, north Baghdad, at 10.30 p.m. Friday, killing four, injuring eight.
Nineveh
A suicide bomber driving a car bomb targeted a neighbourhood play field where young people from the neighbourhood get together to play football in Fannaneen neighbourhood, a Shiite majority neighbourhood in Tel Afar district, near Mosul during a football match at 6 p.m. Friday. Five minutes later another suicide bomber, wearing an explosive vest detonated in the crowd. Twenty five civilians were killed and at least 125 others were injured.
Anbar
Armed men carrying weapons fitted with silencers attacked the home of police major Raed al Jumaili, in the industrial district, east Fallujah,at 10.30 p.m. Friday, killing one of his security guards and injuring two others, one of whom is critical.
