Baghdad
A magnetic bomb that was stuck to the car of police Major Abdulrahman Sabeeh detonated on the Mikanik traffic bridge in Dora, south Baghdad, at 8 a.m. Wednesday, killing Sabeeh.
A roadside bomb targeted an Iraqi army patrol in Jami'a neighbourhood, west Baghdad, at 9 a.m. Wednesday, injuring three army servicemen.
A suicide bomber driving a car bomb was detected when he drove straight towards the checkpoint in Abu Ghraib district, west Baghdad, and would not stop. Security forces opened fire at the driver and stopped the car but it detonated killing one officer and injuring two soldiers and two civilians.
At 6 p.m. two roadside bombs that targeted pilgrims of their way to Kathimiyah, went off simultaneously, one in New Baghdad, east Baghdad and the other in Fdhailiyah, northeast Baghdad, killing five pilgrims and injuring 35 others.
A roadside bomb targeted pilgrims in Bayaa neighbourhood, southwest Baghdad at 7 p.m. Wednesday, injuring six pilgrims.
A suicide bomber wearing an explosive vest detonated, targeting pilgrims, near Abu Haneefa al Numan Mosque in Adhamiyah, north Baghdad, at 8 p.m. Wednesday. Casualties stand at 28 killed and 136 injured.
A roadside bomb targeted pilgrims near Qahtan Square in Yarmouk neighbourhood, west Baghdad, at 9.30 p.m. Wednesday, killing 14 and injuring 100.
A roadside bomb targeted pilgrims in Haifa Street, central Baghdad at 10.45 p.m. Wednesday, injuring nine.
A roadside bomb targeted pilgrims in Mamoun neighbourhood, west Baghdad, at 11.15 Wednesday, injuring two.
A roadside bomb targeted pilgrims in Bab al Muatham Square, north Baghdad, ay around midnight, Wednesday, killing four and injuring at least 46.
Nineveh
Armed men shot and killed a civilian in al Islah neighbourhood, west Mosul, Wednesday.
A roadside bomb targeted a police officer in Gayara neighbourhood, south Mosul, Wednesday, killing the officer and injuring seven civilians.
Armed men opened fire at two women who were shopping in Rifa'I neighbourhood, west Mosul, Tuesday, killing them both. The incident took place within sight of a security checkpoint – but the armed men got away.
A magnetic bomb that was stuck to a civilian car, detonated in a traffic underpass in west Mosul, targeting an Iraqi army checkpoint, killing the civilian driver and severely injuring an Iraqi soldier.
