Mexico City Mayor Miguel Mancera offered a present Tuesday to those aged 68 and older. He announced that Mexico's two large movie theater chains, Cinepolis and Cinemex, will allow senior citizens with a valid ID to go to the movies for free.
It was just a drop-away line in a speech Mancera offered, but it is making headlines.
"Starting next year," Mancera said in Spanish, "seniors in this city will attend the movies with your card for free." He called for a round of applause for the two chains. "Oh yes, they deserve a round of applause."
