BILOXI -- Even if they run against each other for president, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee said he won’t consider his friend Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour an opponent.
“I would consider him a colleague who wants the same job,” said Huckabee, in Biloxi on Monday night signing copies of his new book. “I think Haley could be a very strong candidate, and I believe he has possibly the most brilliant political mind in America ... I owe a lot of my political life to Haley.”
Huckabee signed copies of “A Simple Government: Twelve Things We Really Need from Washington (and a Trillion That We Don’t)” at Books-A-Million at Edgewater Mall on Monday night. By the time he arrived for the signing, the crowd at the bookstore was about 100 people, with as many more expected during the hourlong signing.
