Plenty of action, or at least talk, at the Capitol Saturday as both Houses are scheduled to meet.
The House of Representatives plans votes, though not on the big stuff. But Republicans are scheduled to meet and discuss strategy for ending the government shutdown and raising the debt limit.
The Senate does plan to deal with the debt limit. In early afternoon, it's expected to vote to advance legislation that would raise the debt limit through the end of next year. That measure, though, is not popular with Republicans, and could falter.
The real drama, though, is behind the scenes as White House and congressional staff continue to seek a compromise. No indication Saturday morning they were even close, but talks are ongoing.
