The House of Representatives will begin its 2014 session Jan. 7, according to a calendar released Thursday.
The House will generally be in for two or three weeks at a time, then recess. For instance, its first meetings will run through Jan. 16, and then the House is gone till Jan. 27.
It then meets again Feb. 3-14, then three weeks in late February and March, and so on.
There's a lengthier break April 11-18 for Easter and Passover, and a summer recess that runs from August 1 through Sept. 7. The House also plans to break Oct. 2 for the elections.
