A winter storm has prompted a snow day of sorts at the White House, where all the public events have been postponed.
"Due to weather conditions," the White House says, the daily press briefing and President Obama's meeting with his Commission on Election Administration has been postponed.
Obama and vice president Biden had planned to meet Tuesday with members of the commission which was created after Obama's pledge in his 2013 State of the Union to identify non-partisan ways to shorten lines at polling places, promote the efficient conduct of elections, and provide better access to the polls for all voters.
Obama and Biden were also to meet with Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel in the Oval Office.
