House Republicans are eager to engage in tax reform.
At a party retreat in Cambridge, Md., House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Dave Camp, R-Mich., was upbeat after lawmakers met privately.
"It's really helpful to see momentum building behind a tax reform agenda," he said.
Camp said no specifics were discussed, but "people understand that tax reform means lowering rates."
Just how firm a commitment the House of Representatives Republicans will make remains uncertain. Meetings continue Thursday and Friday.
