A petition on the White House website asking that Canadian pop star Justin Bieber be deported back to Canada has hit the required 100,000 signatures required for an official response.
The petition at We The People asks that the singer be deported and "his green card" be revoked.
"We the people of the United States feel that we are being wrongly represented in the world of pop culture," the petition says. "We would like to see the dangerous, reckless, destructive, and drug abusing, Justin Bieber deported and his green card revoked. He is not only threatening the safety of our people but he is also a terrible influence on our nations youth. We the people would like to remove Justin Bieber from our society."
To cross the threshold and require a response, petitions must reach 100,000 signatures within 30 days. The Bieber petition, created Jan. 23 -- the day Bieber was arrested in Miami Beach -- has more than twice that number.
The White House says it created the popular We the People site "because we want to hear from you. If a petition gets enough support, White House staff will review it, ensure it’s sent to the appropriate policy experts, and issue an official response."
A Miami Beach police officer suspected Bieber and a pal of drag racing in a yellow Lamborghini and red Ferrari down a residential street. Toxicology reports have shown that Bieber was driving with Xanax and marijuana in his system when he was pulled over.
