Republican Rep. Doc Hastings, who was elected to Congress in 1994, said today he will retire at the end of the year.
Calling it a privilege so serve for two decades, he said: “It is with deep appreciation for that privilege that I announce that this will be my final term in office and that I will not run for reelection in November.”
Hastings, the chairman of the House Natural Resources Committee, said he planned to meet with reporters later today in Pasco to discuss his decision.
