The Senate Monday is finally poised to pass legislation extending emergency unemployment benefits.
The plan, reached after months of attempts at compromise, would make benefits retroactive to late December, and extend through May 31.
But.
The Republican-led House of Representatives must approve the measure, and it's unclear what it might do.
Some are advocating dropping the retroactive feature and going with a five month extension, while others want additional conditions.
