U.S. Rep. Derek Kilmer “won’t accept campaign cash from Sith Lords,” he promised in a recent tweet.
So it will presumably be a Jedi-only event when Kilmer hosts a private screening of the upcoming “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” for campaign contributors.
Buzzfeed News first reported, and Kilmer’s office confirmed, the screening for guests at a $250-per-person reception fundraiser in Washington, D.C.
The story calls U.S. Rep. Kilmer “the biggest Star Wars fan in Congress,” and the Gig Harbor Democrat certainly walks the walk.
“If you came into my office, you would see I’ve got a cardboard Luke Skywalker in my office,” he told Buzzfeed. “I’ve got a Yoda ‘do or do not’ pad. I’ve got a Boba Fett bobblehead in my office.”
