Five undecided voters in the Charlotte area have agreed to be citizen correspondents this week.
On Tuesday we asked, “Where do you stand politically right now, and what will you be looking for this week?”
Jamie McConnell, 30
“Right now what I’m really looking for is for (the candidates) to show that they think for themselves, that they’re human, that they’re going to do what is honestly best for the people – not just what they’re being pushed to do.
“I keep joking that I’m going to write somebody in. I’m not happy with either candidate.”
Jamaal Abdul-Awwal, 31
“I’d like to see the different politicians talk about more specific things they’ve done, their accomplishments within the last couple of years.
“I’ve kind of been on the fence … because I have a different idea of what we need to do with each different issue.”
Meredith Figueroa, 40
“I’m looking for the full plan. I want to know what (Obama) is going to do, what his deadlines are, what his goals are.
“I’m a registered Democrat, but I don’t always vote that way. I’m pretty even. I’m kind of for whoever I like. I vote by where my heart is and what the issues are.”
Michael Henning, 41
“The last election was the first time I voted Democrat. I don’t regret the vote I cast last time, but like a lot of people, I’m not really happy with where we are.
“I’m looking for specific ideas and plans. The last time Obama ran, it was all about hope and change and ideas. He had high profile goals. … But this time around I’m looking for specific details. What are we going to do to get the economy moving?”

“I tend to be fiscally conservative and socially liberal. … That kind of places us at a challenging crossroads. What do you choose? What’s more important?”
