Connecticut would appear to be one of the nation’s more Democratic states, but its incumbent Democratic governor has gained momentum with a tie in the latest re-election poll, according to Quinnipiac University’s latest poll.
Connecticut Gov. Dannel Malloy was down 6 last month to Republican Tom Foley. A survey released Wednesday showed a 43 to 43 percent tie, with 9 percent for independent candidate Joe Visconti.
Malloy has gained by chopping Foley’s lead among men by 8 points, while increasing his own lead among women by 4.
Poll director Douglas Schwartz called the latest numbers “good news” for Malloy.
He noted that one of every four voters say they could still change their minds.
"It looks like we're heading for another photo finish - just like in 2010,” Schwartz said.
