Heading into the final weekend of the 2014 midterm election campaign, late polls in close races are inconclusive.
State after state with close Senate races is too close to call. Take North Carolina. Fox News’ latest survey has Sen. Kay Hagan, a Democrat, ahead of Republican Thom Tillis, 43 to 42 percent. CNN/Opinion Research has it Hagan 48, Tillis 46.
Head to Iowa and it’s the same kind of finding. CNN has Republican Joni Ernst up 49 to 47 over Democratic Rep. Bruce Braley. Fox has it Ernst 45, Braley 44, while Reuters/Ipsos calls it a 45 to 45 tie.
Same in Kansas. Independent Greg Orman has a 44 to 43 percent advantage over Sen. Pat Roberts, R-Kansas, according to Fox.
Republicans need a net gain of six Senate seats to win a majority.
