Scott Walker would reject “on Day One” of his presidency any Obama administration deal with Iran on nuclear weapons if it permitted Iran to continue to enrich uranium.
"Absolutely, on Day One," he said.
"I mean, to me, the concept of a nuclear Iran is not only problematic for Iran, and certainly for Israel, but it opens the doors," Walker said.
“I mean, the Saudis are next,” he continued. “You’re going to have plenty of others in the region. People forget that even amongst the Islamic world, there is no love lost between the Saudis and the Iranians. And so they’re going to want to have a nuclear weapon if the Iranians have a nuclear weapon.
“This is something that just escalates before our eyes.”
The U.S. and other countries are working toward a March 31 deadline for a pact with Iran to curb that country’s nuclear program.
Many Republicans have been adamant they fear a weak deal. Forty-seven of the Senate’s 54 Republicans signed a letter earlier this month saying that once Obama is out of office, any deal could be imperiled.
