First the president, now The Donald.
Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump joined President Barack Obama in calling out comedian Bill Cosby, who’s been dogged by multiple allegations of sexual misconduct .
Trump says Cosby is “guilty as hell” in an interview with Rita Cosby - no relation - that’s scheduled to air Sunday on 77 WABC radio in New York.
“I mean he’s looking guilty and that last week’s event, was very bad for him, where they had the sealed documents unsealed,” Trump added.
Several women over the years have accused Bill Cosby of drugging them and having sex with them without their consent. Cosby has denied the accusations. But in a recently-unsealed 2005 court deposition, Cosby said he obtained prescriptions of a sedative to give to women he wanted to have sex with, though he didn’t say whether it was with their knowledge.
Obama weighed in on the Cosby situation during a news conference Wednesday when asked about the possibility of revoking the Presidential Medal of Freedom Cosby received in 2002 from then-President George W. Bush.
Obama said there’s no mechanism to take back the medal and declined to comment on the investigation of Cosby but then add: “I’ll say this. If you give a woman – or a man, for that matter, without his or her knowledge, a drug, and then have sex with that person without consent, that’s rape.”
Trump dismissed Obama’s claim that he can’t take the Medal of Freedom from Cosby.
“Well, I think I could take it away,” he said in the radio interview. “I’ve never been a fan of Bill Cosby. I never liked him. I’ve known him, I’ve never liked him. I think he’s a highly overrated guy, both in talent, and in many other ways.”
Trump said he’s also said he isn’t a fan of Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., these days after McCain, in an interview, said Trump has “fired up the crazies” with his anti-immigration remarks and comments about Mexicans.
“I think John McCain will propably lose if somebody good challenges him in the primary,” Trump said. “I think he’ll lose that election. I think he’s very weak on immigration. I think people in the Arizona are wise to him. I supported him for president and he said nasty things because I told the truth.”
