Donald Trump is a self-absorbed “egomaniacal madman who has no principles,” Bobby Jindal said Thursday.
Jindal, the governor of Louisiana, is far behind in Republican presidential polls, while Trump has a comfortable lead.
Criticizing Trump is common among most of his presidential rivals, but Jindal’s blasts were often relentless.
“Donald Trump is a narcissist and he’s an egomaniac,” Jindal said, in a transcript released by his campaign. “That may sound like a serious charge to make, but it is something that everyone knows to be true. He knows it too. He celebrates it.”
And, Jindal added, “Like all narcissists, Donald Trump is insecure and weak. He’s afraid of being exposed. That’s why he tells us always and constantly telling us how big and strong and wealthy he is.”
He also labeled Trump “shallow,” “a carnival act,” “full of bluster” and “a power hungry shark.”
“He has no substance. He lacks the intellectual curiosity to even learn. You can't argue policy with this guy. The only thing that Donald Trump believes in is himself,” Jindal said.
